Data Privacy Compliance 101
7 November 2017 | 09:00 am – 05:00 pm
Roof Deck Function Room, Makati Diamond Residences
Short Description of the Course
All companies processing personal data in the Philippines are required to comply with RA 10173, the Data Privacy Act of 2012, as well as the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) and memorandum circulars issued by the National Privacy Commission (NPC). Data privacy violations may result in being ordered to stop processing, being ordered to pay damages to those whose privacy rights were violated, and being prosecuted for criminal acts whose penalties include fines and jail time. The journey to compliance can take several months, and the proper way to begin this journey is to attend a one-day orientation conducted by former NPC Deputy Commissioner Dondi Mapa, one of the signatories of the IRR.
